Overview
How you can make a difference The Director, Marketing Operations is responsible for driving the planning, processes, infrastructure, operating systems and performance management for the Marketing department, working with teams that are part of Marketing (Digital/MarTech , Brand & Communications, and Engagement Programs), or closely aligned with Marketing (Sales, IT, Learning & Development and Finance/Expense Management). The marketing operations function touches all aspects of Enterprise Marketing and plays an integral role in its success, focusing on end-to-end process and project optimization that ranges from planning and budgeting to execution and analysis with continual focus on KPIs. This roles reports to the SVP, Chief Marking Officer What you'll be doing Process Development
Instill a culture of continuous improvement in the Marketing function, actively defining and implementing programs/projects while managing and always improving the overall process.
- Develop short- and long-term vision and strategy to implement operational "quick wins" and continuous improvement methodology across the Marketing function
- Document and manage effective regulatory and legal approval processes
- Define, document and refine marketing operating processes to drive efficiency and productivity
Budget and Vendor Management
- Manage the marketing budget and relationship with central finance team, including planning, forecasting and actuals tracking;
- Plan, track and report on investments and results
- Direct validation and processing of invoices and other vendor payments
- Manage financial reporting relationships and implement department processes and best practices for funding requests and vendor onboarding and relationships
- Conduct formal reviews of vendors, systems, processes, and operational mechanisms: identify and prioritize opportunities to drive standardization and optimization
Quality Assurance and Operational Excellence
- Develop and document quality assurance processes and reporting across all marketing channels and audiences
- Continuously improve quality standards and methodologies to achieve operational excellence objectives
- Ingest and process feedback on marketing quality and develop mechanisms improve
Operational communications strategy and execution
- Ingest, prioritize and execute client, regulatory, product, service recovery, crisis and other communications as needed for the organization
- Design and execute client transition experiences and related communications for acquisitions and platform migrations
- Define go-to-market communication frameworks and processes to ensure outstanding internal and external understanding of key marketing initiatives and programs
Marketing project and portfolio management/resource & capacity planning
- Direct overall marketing project prioritization and scope; assign project tiers
- Document, validate and track progress against marketing OKRs, managing status, opportunities and risks
- Ensure alignment, communication, transparency and strategic discussions across marketing teams.
- Develop and maintain marketing capacity model to support staffing conversations and prioritization
- Provide project management support for key marketing initiatives
Marketing Request and Distribution Centers
- Partner internally (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Service) to ensure requests \are identified, prioritizedand needs met/exceeded; continually optimize platforms to deliver the best experience to users
- Monitor and report performance, enabling ongoing enhancements to drive continued value
Operating Cadence and Norms
- Drive a regular cadence around marketing reporting and initiative progress,including coordinating the preparation for the Marketing monthly operating report
- Plan, track and report on Marketing initiatives and results
- Stay attuned to the market and across Marketing for new practices and technologies that will improve and optimize the marketing department's performance, business impact, and effectiveness
- Support the CMO during the annual budget and initiative planning process, including cross-functional requirements gathering
What you will need to be successful
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of professional experience in marketing or sales operations and 5+ in marketing or similar roles.
- Comfort with ambiguity, testing and learning from new things.
- Comfortable managing many diverse cross-channel projects across a broad set of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to work with all levels of management and associates.
- Familiarity with the benefits, healthcare, and financial services marketplace, its products, distribution channels and target markets to drive successful business strategies is a plus.
- Highly strategic and proactive mindset with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Notable influencing skills to motivate/align stakeholders with competing ideas and opinions to work toward a common goal. Ability to articulate strategies in a way that gains buy in and support for implementation.
- Organization, prioritization, and project coordination skills to work across multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Preferred proficiency in Workfront, Seismic, Adobe Experience Manager and Salesforce platforms.
- Strong change management skills, with ability to lead team and support others through change.
- Strong management skills to lead and develop staff and cultivate strong relationships with internal and external partners. Experience managing agencies and vendors.
- Strong work ethic and highly collaborative with management and cross-functional teams.

Salary Range
$120500.00 To $180000.00 / year

The compensation range describes the typical minimum or maximum base pay range for this position. The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
