Position Highlights |
Educators develop and provide instruction to engage campers in inquiry and play-based learning related to weekly camp themes. Learning activities will include science explorations, literacy, creative arts, outdoor activities, and on campus walking field trips. Educators participate in curriculum development meetings prior to camp in order to design educational activities, identify learning objectives and resources, and schedule other camp activities. Educators will be responsible for the delivery of instruction and management of the classroom or camp operations. Fusion Camp is about having fun while learning and sparking an interest in science among elementary aged children. Educators will work with a support staff of Camp Counselors and Junior Camp Counselors to engage campers. Educators will participate in training prior to the start of camp to ensure that they are well prepared to facilitate job duties. Educators will also receive First Aid and CPR training. The position will be part time leading up to camp but will be full time during camp. Camp dates are from June 2, 2025 - June 27, 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead educational instruction in the classroom setting.
- Develop and provide
instruction based upon educational curriculum and scientific concepts that promote inquiry and encourage critical thinking. - Maintain
a schedule of activities and lead children through inquiry and play-based learning that is appropriate to the week's theme, camper's grade level, and needs. - Managing learning activities
outside of the classroom including visits to exhibits, planetarium shows, on campus walking field trips, and guest presentations. - Ensure the safety and security of campers at all
times. - Create a fun and educationally enriching camp
experience. - Addressing minor discipline or first aid issues and
communicating with parents, as needed. - Assess learning styles based on individual special
needs of children. Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support learning and meet campers' needs. - Keeping supplies organized and ensuring the classroom
is cleaned at week's end to allow for other uses of the room.

- Demonstrates creativity, patience, and flexibility when working with children.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and
problem-solving skills. - Ability to engage children through enriching
activities.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent advanced learning
attained through experience required - 1 year of relevant work experience
- Experience working with children
|
Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience in K-5 STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education
- Experience providing instruction at a science camp
- Experience with classroom management in small and large group settings
