Production Lead

As a Production Lead, you will ensure products meet company specifications and uphold safety, legality, and quality standards. You will work both independently and as part of a team to perform tasks efficiently, adapting techniques as needed. Key responsibilities include leading and communicating with team members, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and ensuring materials are used cost-effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Production Supervisor in the make-up packaging area by leading, communicating, documenting and ensuring the highest food quality and safety responsibilities.
• Communicates with co-workers, production supervisors, quality, and maintenance staff in order to effectively meet the production needs and goals.
• Ensures GMP guidelines are being followed
• Ensures materials needed for daily production are available prior to shift start-up.
• Makes necessary adjustments to conveyor speeds per supervisor instructions. Reports any machinery issues to the supervisor on hand, and calls maintenance to the line.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized work area.
• Know, understand, and follow safe operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Perform training of new operators and assist in other training activities which support the manufacturing process.
• Flexibility in job assignments based on production needs, as designated by a supervisor. This includes the ability to fill in for production and packing employees when short staffed.
• Make all necessary machinery & equipment adjustments and performs all tasks & duties necessary for efficient start-ups, daily operation, change-over and shut-downs.
• Other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Previous work history in a food manufacturing facility is preferred.
• Previous bakery or production line experience is preferred.
• Good communication skills, in English.
• Ability to read and write in English, and use of basic math and time keeping.
• Able to make logical decisions.
