Accounting AP AR Specialist 60 E Broadway, Bloomington, MN 55425, USA Req #975 Friday, February 21, 2025 PURPOSE: To process and approve accounts payable, apply cash receipts to tenant's balances and collect outstanding balances from tenants. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Prepare, sort and verify invoices for data processing and appropriate entry. Approve invoices in Nexus accounts payable software that are entered by others. Maintain vendor relationships; follow up with vendors regarding present and/or outstanding payments. Research unresolved vendor issues. Respond to vendor and employee inquiries. Enter accounts payable data into the system and process reports for check printing. Prepare checks for distribution and mailing. Enter cash receipts from tenants and non-tenants into the system; adjust accounts as needed. Main contact person for collecting outstanding balances from tenants. Prepare and submit miscellaneous billings to customers and ensure timely payment. Maintain tenant files and records. File invoices, checks and cash receipts into the appropriate area. Answer guest questions and provide assistance when needed. ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Process yearly 1099's and 1096's Order office supplies for department members Mail packages and letters Perform other duties as assigned PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: High school diploma or equivalent Associate's degree in accounting and/or a combination of education and work experience preferred. Minimum of 2 year similar or work-related experience (office, data entry, and clerical experience) Knowledge of accounting software, specifically MRI and Nexus Knowledge of general accounts payable practices Knowledge of general accounts receivable practices Data entry for various A/P and A/R duties 10 Key skills for entering cash and invoices Basic MS Word and Excel experience for miscellaneous projects as assigned Ability to work with general mathematical concepts and apply for solutions Good verbal communication skills for resolving employee and vendor issues Ability to work well with others to accomplish the task at hand Detail oriented to provide accurate processing of payable and receivables PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Sit-frequently, 90% of time Perform repetitive motion such as using a keyboard-frequently, 90% of time Stand/move about-periodically, 10% of time Reach at or above shoulder level-infrequently, 10% of time Reach at or below should level-infrequently, 10% of time STARTING PAY: $43,470 - $54,337.50 Pay is based on many aspects which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, work experience and certifications.
