We're currently seeking full time Reporter with strong editorial, storytelling, live and digital skills. Duties and Responsibilities:

Successful reporters are dynamic individuals who are curious about the community and world around them; creative in sourcing, developing and producing engaging stories for our broadcast, streaming and digital platforms; and competitive in monitoring other sources of news, challenging themselves to be different and working to continually elevate KTVU coverage. This position requires a strong understanding of newsroom production and an ability to work with different teams to create content for multiple platforms. While reporting is the core focus of the position, we are also looking for an individual who feels comfortable in different roles in the newsroom on and off camera, including digital production, sports, weather and special projects.

  • Serve as an on-air presenter of news stories, interviews, and other content for all TV, streaming and digital platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to news consumers.
  • Stay at the frontline of breaking news situations, taking on flexible duties when assigned, to deliver live reporting that captures the veracity of the moment.
  • Present content live conversationally and with confidence and comfort on various platforms
  • Take charge of coordinating and producing compelling interview segments, ensuring content is informative and resonates with our diverse audience.
  • Demonstrate an exceptional capacity for researching, reporting, and writing broadcast and digital print news copy on deadline, while adhering to station standards for precision and clarity.
  • Independently create unique and compelling content for a variety of digital platforms, including streaming channels, social media, Connected TV apps, and other digital media.
  • Develop and maintain an engaging social media presence that complements station's brand image
  • A strong understanding of newsroom production, various daypart reporting needs, and creating content for multiple platforms.
  • Willingness to travel and present from the field as required.
  • Other duties assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

A deep connection to the San Francisco Bay Area is highly favorable-whether you grew up, attended school, or have previously worked in the region, we value your intrinsic understanding of our community and its stories.

High school diploma is required; 4-year College degree is preferred.

Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience with fast-paced television productions, including live shots, in-studio, and field interviews.

Excellent communication and leadership skills are required.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $125,000.00-135,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $104,100.00-112,500.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
