SLSCO Ltd is seeking a Proposal Director to join our team. Our team provides the full spectrum of general contracting, construction management, infrastructure, disaster response, health, and humanitarian services throughout North America and beyond. We serve all levels and sectors of government and private industry in a wide range of markets.

The Proposal Director is responsible for leading the development of division-level proposals for local, state, and federal pursuits. As the Proposal Director, you'll make an impact by providing strategic leadership to complete high-quality, winning submissions. You will lead a team of direct reports to execute multiple concurrent proposals while ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct all aspects of proposal development, including strategy, win themes, development schedules, and compliance matrices.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to the proposal team from inception to completion, including opportunity searches, content development, requirements, and formatting.
  • Analyze and interpret technical requirements of RFPs and contribute feedback for Bid/No-Bid decisions.
  • Oversee calendar and coordination of proposal schedule and activities (kick-off meetings, color team reviews, SME coordination, writing/reviews, quality reviews, etc.)
  • Facilitate team meetings to discuss status, schedule, and action items.
  • Collaborate with operational and technical leads, project managers, and SMEs to develop and articulate technical, operational, staffing, and costing solutions.
  • Draft and/or edit technical and non-technical sections of proposals in collaboration with other team members, continuously improving quality.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of the requirements are well-articulated and consistent.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure brand compliance and visual appeal.
  • Utilize available repositories to identify content relevant to current proposal efforts.
  • Oversee client interview preparation and development of oral presentation collateral.
  • Perform closeout activities, including lessons learned and facilitate debriefing process.
  • Ensure all proposal details are accurately entered into SharePoint.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or a related field and seven years of proposal management experience.
  • Experience managing the entire proposal life cycle, from pre-RFP to post-submission.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to inspire outstanding work from team members in the development of proposals.
  • Strong facilitation, leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in managing, organizing, and prioritizing multiple project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of experience responding to federal, state and/or local government bids for a professional services firm preferred
  • APMP or PMP certification preferred
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 15 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
