PROJECT FINANCE MANAGER

As a Project Finance Manager, you are responsible for managing the project accounting team, maintaining/expediting the pre-development, project, and construction accounting records across six national markets (modified GAAP and IRS methods), draw submittals, A/P, A/R, reconciliations, cost certifications, project sourcing, as well as providing related support for and recommendations to the SVP/CFO/COO and Director of Construction Finance & Accounting. As the Project Finance Manager, you will:
- Manage and assist with project/pre-development/construction accounting including setting up, processing, submitting and reconciling the monthly draw cycle for multiple projects nationwide.
- Manage workflow of project accountants and AP/admin team.
- Reconcile AP to job cost to the general ledger and the flow of funds.
- Reconcile billings to AR to cash management to the general ledger to the flow of funds.
- Complete draws including lender, owner, and general contractor documents.
- Manage/expedite lien waiver/disbursement process for monthly draws.
- Update variance, job cost and other reports as needed.
- Communicate with applicable departments regarding the draw cycle.
- Responsible for funding and AP processing to ensure accurate/timely payment of all invoices.
- Prepare, compile, organize and code invoices for payment.
- Review dates for invoice payment to ensure appropriate procedures are followed.
- Issue checks in accordance with department schedule and maintain paid invoice files.
- Monitor invoices for sales and use tax.
- Maintain vendor records, including establishing new vendors, modifying payment terms and Form 1099 information.
- Manage/prepare monthly bank statement reconciliations and sales/use tax reports/returns.
- Manage/prepare/reconcile inter-company invoicing.
- Manage/prepare the tax credit cost certification process.
- Manage/assist in the procurement of equity and soft project sourcing.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Project Finance Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent in education and experience).
- Five years of related work experience, tax credit experience preferred.
- Intermediate experience with Word, Excel, and Accounting software (RealPage preferred).
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
- Ability to follow-up on projects.
- Ability to efficiently handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
