Configuration Coordinator A

Location: Pascagoula, MS

Position Overview

The Configuration Coordinator A supports the Configuration Management (CM) process within the Program Office, ensuring compliance with contractual baseline configuration and change control requirements. This role involves assisting in the development and implementation of the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and maintaining key metrics for the Configuration Control Board (CCB) across various programs. The Configuration Coordinator is responsible for tracking, auditing, and managing program-generated change documents both electronically and in hard copy. This position reports directly to the Senior Configuration Manager.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

The following duties outline the general nature of this role but are not exhaustive:

* Establish and maintain the contractual baseline configuration, including planning, identification, change management, status accounting, and verification/auditing.

* Track program design changes, creating an audit trail for in-scope and out-of-scope modifications.

* Perform regular Lien Management audits within R3 to ensure all liens are properly captured and completed.

* Support CDRL management, including submissions, tracking, and reporting as required.

* Assist with Lien Management processes, including YEKs, Material Transfer, DRs, and ECNs.

* Report the status of all change requests to Configuration Management on a weekly basis.

* Support Engineering Management with relevant data related to change.

* Assist in the development and documentation of Work Instructions as needed.

* Assist in the development and updating of processes in tandem with the Program Office and SSGC.

* Track and manage CARs and Trial Cards within TSM.

* Assign CARs and Trial Cards to SME for official judication.

* Report weekly status of open CARs and Trail Cards to management and relative department supervision.

* Maintain and update the RTVM IBM DOORS database with contract changes and subcontractor updates.

* Collaborate with government representatives to ensure IBM DOORS outputs are consistent and accurate.

* Perform additional duties as required to support program operations.

Required/Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Strong ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels, including Program Management, Engineering, Production, and Project teams.

* Ability to prepare presentation materials for meetings and program reviews.

* Knowledge of configuration management principles for federal shipbuilding programs, industry regulations, and company standards.

* Familiarity with shipbuilding procedures for identifying and documenting functional and physical characteristics, controlling changes, and tracking implementation.

* Experience with configuration item identification, change order processes, configuration management milestones, and data management.

* Effective written and verbal communication skills to maintain relationships with employees, customers, and subcontractors.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

* College degree preferred.

* Understanding of Ship Work Breakdown Structure (SWBS).

* Experience in database administration and maintenance (Microsoft Access, SQL Server, or Oracle).

Experience Requirements

* 5 to 8 years of experience in configuration management, change management, data management, and process development within the shipbuilding industry.
