TSC is seeking a forward-thinking & highly motivatedMaterial Planner / Scheduler I based in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking team player who will proactively support the Supply Chain team in a timely manner, work fast and under pressure, understand and enhance supply chain processes, assemble data, identify problems and provide recommendations that support program planning and operations. Critical to the job, the candidate will actively work purchase requisitions to support inventory levels needed to meet schedules and contract requirements, will coordinate with Engineering to ensure the timely ordering of requirements for long lead time items and project-specific orders, and will support proposal efforts as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate primarily with Supply Chain Team.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for the procurement of parts based on material requirements, shop load and inventory requirements, and requestor specifications or program needs.
  • Maintain positive customer and supplier relations during fast-paced environment/quick-turn demands.
  • Work with Purchasing throughout quoting, requisitioning, expediting and tracking incoming material.
  • Support project costing requests to identify responsive and responsible suppliers.
  • Work material RFQ's (raw material, electrical components, tooling).
  • Support efforts to develop and maintain detailed schedules and material requirements lists for program schedule requirements and proposal efforts.
  • Assist management in resolving problems concerning shortages, changes and cancellations.
  • Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing production, engineering, manufacturing engineering, and scheduling.
  • Provide timely feedback supporting proposal and build efforts including, but not limited to, current and potential shortages, participating in the development and execution of a recovery plan.
  • Utilize Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) to ensure that data is accurate and up to date, including creation and modification of requisitions, and coordination with Suppliers, Purchasing, Quality, and Materials the flow of material needed for production or program requirements to support schedule dates.
  • Influence make/buy decisions for established/repeat build products.
  • Other team support functions as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • HS Degree with 6-8 years of related experience in procurement, material control, and/or material planning role
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Experience with Material Resource Planning
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand technical drawings/ requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Business or related field, with 2 years Electronic Assembly Procurement and/or Electronic Component Quality Control experience
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint
  • Experience with contract manufacturing (electrical/mechanical/assembly)
  • Product Lifecycle Documentation system's experience
  • Working knowledge of Government sourcing rules, FAR/DFAR, ITAR, CUI
