Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Purchasing & Inventory Manager to be based out of one of our plant locations. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations - PVC Pipe & Conduit, they will be responsible for leading the procurement function within PVC Pipe & Conduit.

What you'll do:



  • Actively oversee daily purchasing, to include plastic resin raw material procurement and delivery coordination to all plants

  • Participate in the Annual resin contract negotiations process



  • Tracking of monthly resin market pricing, reading published resin industry reports, coordinating with industry experts and managing monthly movements in commodity pricing



  • Responsible for overall inventory management with continuous improvements through safe operating practices, product availability, waste reduction, cost-saving initiatives, and cultural breakthroughs



  • Coordinate with each plant to drive the process and execution for the supply chain and procurement of materials in support of production processes.



  • Manage the Cycle Count process and actively implement process improvements.




What you'll bring:



  • Bachelor's in business or related field
  • Certification for purchasing professional from the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years' relevant working experience
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or a business system-based company
  • Proven knowledge of purchasing within an ERP system
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrate and foster an environment that upholds the Atkore Core Values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore Immersion Program
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy
  • Start meeting with major strategic suppliers
  • Start coordinating procurement and delivery of resins to 9+ manufacturing plants located throughout the country.


Within 6 months, you'll:



  • Own Commercial Metric reporting and process improvement
  • Create and modify standardized work and ensure consistent application by all team members


Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Coordinate with corporate procurement departments to assure consistency and following of best practices.
  • Take on Cycle Counting and Yearly Inventory responsibility to improve material efficiency

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $104,240 - $143,330. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
