Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Plant Manger to be based out of Pueblo, CO. part of the Corrosion Resistant Conduit Strategic Business Unit ("SBU"). Reporting to the Director of Operations, this person will be responsible for leadership of all operations in Pueblo, CO.

The ideal candidate will have a business, engineering, or finance degree (or equivalent experience). Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a requirement.

This leader is an experienced, technically minded, hands-on leader that feels most comfortable leading people across various operational departments. This person will have experience working in the business while also working on the business each day.

What you'll do:



  • Drive business results in a Lean Manufacturing culture

    • Lead the facility's Lean Transformation Assessment, a series of 12 interrelated categories supporting continuous improvement
    • Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost ("SQDC") - Own the "plant scorecard" for the facility and responsibility for countermeasures when necessary
    • Continue developing and promote a culture of safety
    • Lead and executive Own the monthly production planning process and drive excellence within sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP)
    • Understand both the operational and financial performance of the facility partnering with key stakeholders
    • Partner directly with the local controller to understand in detailed results such as conversion cost and net productivity
    • Lead dedicated lean leaders as well as sponsor kaizen activities


  • Strategy

    • Work with the management team to develop and support strategic initiatives for the strategic business unit.


  • People

    • Build a high performing team prioritizing frontline talent acquisition needs working with internal and external partners
    • Continue to build and structure the appropriate leadership team to support a growing and expanding business
    • Conduct regular performance reviews of team members with top grading where necessary




What you'll bring:



  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience as a senior leader in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience of process improvements
  • A documented track record of sustainable productivity and volume growth
  • A mix of formal training and experience with lean, operations management, policy deployment (Hoshin Kanri), business acumen and leadership
  • Ability to make independent and sound decisions.
  • Must possess sound interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess strong leadership and organizational experience
  • Ability to implement changes that support the company vision.
  • Experience implementing manufacturing strategy.

Additional Responsibilities/Expectations



  • Complete Atkore immersion including leading a large Kaizen event
  • Understand and drive changes to strategy to correct any unfavorable trends especially net productivity and gross throughput
  • Recommend staffing changes/moves to improve business performance
  • Lead all tactical and strategic initiatives on the campus including but not limited to weekly SQDC reviews, monthly forecasting, deep dives, strategy deployment initiatives, etc.
  • Own a long-term strategy for capital expenditures and volume growth


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete Atkore immersion including participating in a large Kaizen event
  • Plant Tour of the St-Andre facility in Canada
  • Gain a solid understanding of current transformational activities especially related to workforce development and maintenance excellence
  • Be embedded into the business deep enough to actively participate in financial & operational reviews.


Within 6 months, you'll:



  • Understand and drive changes to strategy to correct any unfavorable trends especially net productivity and gross throughput
  • Lead all tactical and strategic initiatives including but not limited to weekly SQDC reviews, monthly forecasting, deep dives, strategy deployment initiatives, etc.
  • Recommend staffing changes/moves to improve business performance


Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Be completely accountable for all results from raw material receiving to finished goods shipping
  • Be prepared to complete all annual budgeting activities and headcount changes
  • Own a long-term strategy for capital expenditures and volume growth


Pay Range based on experience: $132,080 - $165,100
