This is a full-time position for the Building Sciences - West laboratories from Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Summary: We are seeking a candidate to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team with the Building Sciences laboratories. Reporting to the Quality Program Manager, this role involves implementing, administering, and overseeing quality policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. They are self-motivated, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and adapt well to a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative setting and is comfortable working with various areas of the laboratory. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implement and manage the quality system for the Building Sciences - West laboratories.
- Collaborates with laboratory management to implement and manage quality processes, results, audits, and improvement programs.
- Contributes to the achievement of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.
- Provides observations and recommendations to leadership for enhancing the organization's quality policies, procedures, and practices.
- Manages expectations of leaders, managers, staff, and operations, and facilitates communication on customer needs and business requirements.
- Trains staff and management on quality policies, systems, and procedures.
- Compiles, analyzes, and monitors performance metrics and internal quality control and provides reports to Corporate Quality.
- Performs internal audits, coordinates participation in external accreditation programs and proficiency test programs and reporting of results.
- Oversees the Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and the document management system.
- Effectively resolves escalated, technical, or sensitive quality issues by collaborating with internal teams or external agencies as necessary, ensuring successful resolutions. Demonstrates tact, discretion, and prudence in all interactions.
- Maintains currency of quality regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, applicable laws, and related legislation.
- Manages Quality Department staff including hiring, training, providing compensation recommendations, and performance management.
- Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field; AND three (3) years of experience in quality; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Three (3) years of supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of quality systems, operational areas, and the development and implementation of quality programs, policies, and procedures.
- Understands the principles and practices of developing teams, motivating employees, and managing in a team environment.
- Proficient in preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials, with a strong command of business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Skilled in exercising initiative and independent judgment within established organizational and departmental guidelines.
- Skilled in delivering effective presentations to both large and small groups across functional peers and the department
- Proficient ininterpreting, applying, and explaining relevant laws, codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office - including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook
- Experience with one or more of the following in an asbestos, microbiological, and/or indoor air quality (IAQ) laboratory: ISO17025, AIHA LAP, NVLAP, and/or TNI
- Travel is required up to 50%
