Professional Services is an area of our organization responsible for developing technical resources and maintaining a culture of quality. These practices improve our competitiveness and drive our growth. As PSL, you will report to the TBG (Transportation Business Group) Managers and work alongside the TBG Managers and TBG Business Development Lead (BDL) to provide oversight of individual Practice Leads, who provide leadership for their practice areas and staff across Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, and associated programs. You will coordinate with the TBG Business Class and Market Sector Leadership, as well as HDR's Professional Services Global Directors to implement the Business Group's technical and quality initiatives within the TBG. As TBG PSL, you will lead the technical development of the professional practices defined for the area and programs for career development, recognition, and retention of their staff. You will also support recruiting efforts to attract talent. In addition to your primary responsibilities as summarized below, the PSL will be responsible for collaborating on technical delivery and business development for cross-business group opportunities within the area.
In the role of Transportation Professional Services Leader, we'll count on you to:
- Function as the Transportation Business Group Professional Services Lead and liaison with the global Transportation Professional Services Director.
- Support communication between practice leads and their respective Business Classes and Market Sectors.
- Develop technical delivery skills for staff across the Business Group
- Provide technical oversight and staff resource assignment to projects across the area
- Direct quality management system programs
- Work directly with the area Transportation BDL to support business development activities
- Perform PARR and other project reviews focusing on scheduling, staffing, and quality
- Mentor practice leads, market sector leads, and business class leads as applicable
- Monitor project delivery staffing levels and qualifications
- Implement technical and digital delivery evolution in collaboration with Global Professional Services Director
- Coordinate business processes with the Business Group Manager(s) and Business Development Lead consistent with Area, corporate policy, and HDR's matrix of authority (MOA)
- Develop and support quality, standards, and best practices across professional service practice areas
- Provide technical learning path development and mentoring
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 15 years' experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the local market.
- Knowledge of HDR business process
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
- Ability to work cooperatively with area manager, business group managers, and business development lead, as well as regional business group directors and national business group leaders and professional services director.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience.
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
- Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams. Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
- Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managers.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
