Overview

Overview:

The Concept Formulation (CONFORM) team oversees EB's concept development work which includes leading SSN(X) and program insertion studies, research and development efforts, university and small business outreach, payload integration, and warfare analysis. The R&D efforts of CONFORM include internally funded independent research and development (IR&D) and externally funded contract research and development (CR&D) with the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the Navy Undersea Technology Office (NAVSEA073). The university and small business outreach includes collaboration with the National Institute of Undersea Vehicle Technology (NIUVT), other university research opportunities such as senior design Capstone projects, and small business collaboration to identify and develop new technologies that are consumable by the submarine fleet.

This program representative position will involve project development, management, and integration in one or more of the following areas: IR&D, CR&D, NIUVT, small business innovation research (SBIR), and other R&D groups at EB. Work will be performed in close coordination with the other CONFORM areas.

Responsibilities include:

    Interface and coordination with EB's functional groups (e.g., engineering, contracts, legal, purchasing, finance, etc.)
  • Interface with universities and small business partners
  • Assisting IR&D and SY4.0 programs with portfolio management
  • Minimal local travel is expected


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree, Engineering degree highly desired
  • A minimum of two years of engineering or program management experience
  • SECRET clearance

Preferred:

  • Broad knowledge of EB business operations and interactions among organizations, e.g. Finance, Contracts, Legal, Engineering
  • Experience with R&D
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working with universities and/or small businesses

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task
  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter who can develop relevant details from general requirements
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • The ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple different tasks for different customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
