Overview

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our engineering team to lead the integration, qualification, manufacturing and transition to production of Active Protection System (APS) technologies. The APS technologies include countermeasure munitions, radars, optics, turrets, turret controls and real-time software. In this role, you will we working with foreign supplier partners, vehicle prime contractors and the U.S. Army. You will collaborate with development engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing and program management to balance technical scope with cost, schedule, resources and risk. The technical scope of the position involves developing system and subsystem architectural models, defining requirements, interfaces, and verification methods to facilitate vehicle integration. You will also support qualification testing at Army facilities, troubleshooting and field support as well as conducting reliability analysis, safety/hazard analysis, logistics planning, user training, and preparation of associated customer deliverable documentation. Your overarching objective will be a successful transition to production for APS technologies, starting with capture activities.



Major Position Responsibilities

    Applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies.
  • Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems.
  • Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects.
  • Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects.
  • Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment.


Basic Qualifications

Required Education: Associates Degree

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

Desired Education: Master's degree in Systems Engineering or other closely related field

Years of Experience: 5-7 years experience in a relevant function

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Leads various aspects of the full life cycle of the product including requirements analysis, definition and decomposition, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, decision analysis and trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation, interface definition studies of system/subsystem elements, and technical services and support
  • Creates, manages, and validates requirement databases; establishes verification methods and maintains requirement traceability; and produces requirement verification trace matrices
  • Plans and implements system integration and verification programs to ensure the system meets all requirements. Includes development and execution of hardware and software test procedures
  • Develops and documents system architecture using model-based design practices, monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately
  • Assists in specialty engineering efforts such as safety, reliability, maintainability, logistics and obsolescence management, and associated deliverable documentation
  • Plans and supports generation of technical documents, presentation materials and coordinates feedback on customer provided documents.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses, and performs Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) at functional and component levels.

Other Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience in full lifecycle technology development in the Aerospace or Defense industry
  • Expertise with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML tools such as Cameo for modeling of system and subsystem architectures
  • Experience in a technical leadership role, engaging directly with customers, and mentoring engineers
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Travel Requirements: Less than 25% travel likely.



Pay Range (USD)

$74,550.00 - $138,450.00

The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the range during the hiring process.


Additional Compensation

Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company's Gain Sharing Program.
