Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is hiring a Rotational Development Program (Contracts Management) Professional to work in our Business Management department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located onsite in Idaho Falls, Idaho with every other Friday off. You will report to the Manager for Organizational Performance Management.

You will be part of an 12-18 month rotational program designed to build a strong foundation of business skills for a successful career in Contracts Management - this department is crucial for securing funding, ensuring research plans, and supporting the mission of the national laboratory. You will support multiple divisions within the Business Management Directorate, gaining a unique strategic perspective and developing a professional network that includes laboratory leaders who will contribute to your career progression.

The program consists of two to three rotations through different areas related to the work acceptance process. Rotations correlate with major program lifecycle phases, including capturing work. Each rotation will expose you to different departments, facilities, and managers, as much as possible. You will work closely with technical and scientific staff to capture and execute work opportunities.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Help coordinate aspects of the proposal process lifecycle with research teams and stakeholders.
  • Implement strategies for communicating compliance with Laboratory and DOE procedures for proposal development and submission.
  • Provide proactive outreach and communication on opportunities and procedures, and updated guidelines.
  • Facilitate the application process by monitoring proposal reviews, approvals, and directorate submissions.
  • Perform quality/compliance checks on proposal submittal packages and support proposal development teams.
  • Educate and support teams on sponsor policies, procedures, tools, and systems.
  • Monitor metrics, prepare reports, and provide leadership with analyses to inform decision making and portfolio management.
  • Coordinate with departments (e.g., Legal, Technology Deployment, Research and Development, Export Control) to ensure INL's business interests are protected.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to justify decisions and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with acquisition teams to address challenges, institute improvements, and achieve organizational goals.

Minimum Requirements:



  • Level 1: Bachelor's and 0 years of experience.
  • Level 2: Bachelor's and 2 years of experience. Master's and 0 years of experience.


Job Information:



  • The pay range for this position is: Level 1 ($46,392 - $90,564) / Level 2 ($56,196 - $109,644). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
