Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum five years' experience in managing hardware and software in virtual clusters
  • Experience with scripting using PowerShell and/or Phyton in Windows and LAMP systems
  • Experience with RDBMS systems
  • Experience with Networking design and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Endpoint management solutions like Ivanti, Intune, JAMF, etc.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group policies
  • Experience with VMWare and Veeam

Position Summary
This role is essential to supporting the technological infrastructure of the Division of Development & Alumni Relations ( DAR) and advancing its strategic goals. The position is responsible for managing and maintaining the Division's and Foundation's infrastructure and security of network, servers, and storage environments across all systems, including Production, Development, and Disaster Recovery.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Infrastructure and Security, this role plays a key part in team projects aimed at optimizing IT support for the division. Additionally, it collaborates with hardware and software vendors to coordinate enhancements, address issues, conduct testing, and evaluate system needs. By improving tools and processes, this position helps drive efficiency and effectiveness across the division.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Expertise in virtualization technologies, storage networks, and network topologies and protocols.
  • Advanced knowledge of security hardening and compliance across multiple platforms, including Virtualization platforms, Unix, and Windows.
  • Strong ability to design infrastructure solutions that align with technology initiatives.
  • In-depth understanding of load balancing and firewall configurations.

Manage DAR's primary and offsite virtual clusters and the hardware associated with them.

  • Provision and reallocate resources for DAR technology needs, implementing physical and logical configurations to ensure maximum performance, and manage/configure network/switch gear for the VM Hosts, all while ensuring stability and security affecting all DAR environments.
  • Identify and propose opportunities for best practice configurations.
  • Identify hardware needs, and work with vendors to road map technologies
  • Prepare funding proposals around those needs for consideration by leadership.

Manage and monitor multiple storage systems, the connectivity channels for them, and the infrastructure hardware associated with them. This includes both DAR's primary and offsite storage.

  • Prepare funding proposals around hardware needs for consideration by leadership.

  • Provision, manage, monitor, and update servers used by other DAR IT teams as well as all LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl/PHP/Python) based servers associated for division websites. This includes serving as a resource for other DAR Advancement IT team members for performance, troubleshooting, network topologies through the virtual configurations, and security access roles.
