Duties and Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the operation and onsite support of remotely located utility scale battery energy storage systems.
* Ensures battery facilities are operating safely and within environmental and reliability compliance guidelines.
* Responds to and reports any audible alarms, process changes, and sound variations and takes corrective action when problems are discovered.
* Operates control panels during normal and emergency operations on battery energy storage systems in accordance with operating procedures and other instructions to maintain an efficient and safe operation.
* Utilizes human machine interfaces (HMI) to adjust load, change operating modes, and issue instructions to the battery systems as needed to comply with directions from the CAISO, management, and other entities.
* Travels to battery sites to interact and communicate with vendors to coordinate operation and maintenance activities.
* Utilizes trending capabilities of the plant operating software to correct deviations from normal plant processes.
* Performs and direct operational tests.
* Maintains operational logs and prepares reports for leadership.
* Provides safety oversight of third-party personnel performing maintenance duties at worksites.
* Provides training to other plant personnel.
* Assists in the development of standard operating procedures.
* Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications:

* Must have the ability to absorb formal training and schooling.
* Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
* Must be able to wear a respirator.
* Must be able to select and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
* Must have basic computer skills.

* Will be required to attend meetings and plant training sessions.
* Will be required to enter work orders and work requests into a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
* Will be required to operate heavy equipment, such as a man lift and forklift as necessary.
* 2+ years of power generating facilities experience, renewable energy generation facilities experience, or energy storage facilities experience.
* Will be required to work overtime, which includes extended days, call-outs for emergency work, weekend work, and holiday work.

This is a Union Represented position - Represented by Local IBEW 465.

Note: The salary for this position is governed by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement.
