Job Posting Title: Senior HR Specialist, HR Shared Services, Compliance

Time Type: Full Time

The Sr HR Specialist is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to ensure compliance and support the daily operations of the HR Shared Services department. This role will provide training and support to the HR Specialist and HR Assistant positions within the HR Shared Services Team. The Sr HR Specialist's overall goal is to support the local HR teams and manage the HRSS functions within scope, throughout the US and Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Research new and updated laws to ensure the company remains in compliance.
  • Oversee the background check review team, conducting individualized assessments for consideration on charges.
  • Write new policies and update existing, as laws or company practices change.
  • Develop training programs to educate managers and the workforce on various US laws and DSV policies.
  • Manage ongoing Affirmative Action Plan reporting, plan review and analysis, tracking and follow up on action items, and participate in audits.
  • Compile and submit the annual EEO-1 reporting prior to the deadline for all US divisions.
  • Compile and submit the annual VETs reporting prior to the deadline for all US divisions.
  • Pull wage data for the annual Ohio Workers Comp True Up and submit data through the portal, for all divisions operating in Ohio.
  • Backup for presenting new hire orientation, both in-person and virtually.
  • Crosstrain and provide backup support to Immigration Specialist.
  • Prepare separation packages when requested by leadership, track completion, run query with CMS once returned, upload to employee file, and enter payment and COBRA requests.
  • Receive tickets in the helpdesk and provide impeccable customer service with detailed, timely responses.
  • Continuously monitor processes and recommend improvement and efficiencies.
  • Support other HR areas as needed including special projects.
  • Translate documents, policies and the employee handbook, and support HR Business Partners with translation services when needed.
  • Backup for the security badge system in the headquarters office.



Required Educational Background and Work Experience



  • Minimums four years' experience working in the Human Resource field required.
  • Prior experience with functions within the HR Specialist role on the DSV HR Shared Services team to provide training and support to other team members.
  • Prior experience with pre-employment screening and employment authorization, or knowledgeable of the laws around these.



Required Skills and Competencies



  • Strong proficiency in basic MS Office applications, with intermediate Excel skills required.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen.
  • Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Able to multi-task across multiple projects with varying deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.


  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to quickly learn the business, company culture and strategy.
  • Must be able to deal with ambiguity, cope with change and flexible with shifting priorities.
  • Must be a good team player, able to work within a team to cover various functions and support each other when needed.



Preferred Skills and Competencies



  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Experience using HRIS systems (SAP Success Factors and ADP a plus)



Language Skills Required



  • English (reading, writing, and verbal) required.
  • Spanish speaking and writing are a plus.



Physical Demands

Work is generally sedentary, with no specific need for physical coordination or effort. May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities. Hours can be extensive as well as occasionally staggered given any special projects that are time sensitive.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Travel

For this position, the expected base pay is:$69,000 - $93,000/ Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
