Multi-Color Corporation's Indirect Procurement team is currently looking for aGlobal Indirect Category Manager - Print and Pre-Press to join our growing team. The Global Indirect Category Manager - Print and Pre-Press, will be responsible fordeveloping and executing the sourcing strategy for the following print-related commodities: plates, blankets, cylinders, anilox, doctor blades, dies, service contracts, miscellaneous pressroom supplies, pre-press materials and services and outside print services. The Global Indirect Category Manager - Print and Pre-Press will support MCC's 100+ plants and customers by ensuring MCC maintains continuity of supply and lowest total cost of ownership for the assigned commodities.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, communicate, and maintain global category visions and strategies for approximately $100M spend based on business intelligence, MCC needs and policies, and company-wide cross-functional buy-in from key stakeholders.
  • Develop and lead negotiation strategies, conduct RFx, organize RFx results, and communicate complete strategy and results to gain alignment from senior management and key stakeholders
  • Oversee supplier selection and performance management. Ensures alignment to MCC goals and policies.
  • Understand industry contracting norms and MCC contracting requirements. Successfully facilitates negotiation of final contracts that achieve business goals.
  • Proactively segment suppliers and utilize engagement programs to improve performance, achieve business goals, and maintain strategic alignment with senior procurement leaders and key stakeholders to continuously re-evaluate and improve procurement processes.
  • Always seek ways to streamline, automate, and simplify processes. This will include deploying of tools and having proficiency in data analytics.
  • Partner with internal stakeholder groups such as plant management, engineering, legal, and other groups as needed, as well as external suppliers, industry groups, consultants. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7+ years of progressive strategic sourcing and contracting experience, including extensive experience developing and executing strategic sourcing plans.
  • 2+ years' experience in print-related industry with sound knowledge of printing press technologies, components, and suppliers preferred.
  • Highly skilled negotiator and RFx leader with proven ability to move to a supplier's best and final offer quickly while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Experience with sourcing fundamentals and a demonstrated track record of facilitating and executing successful sourcing initiatives (including thorough understanding of RFx best practices contracting methods and procedures, techniques of contract writing, purchasing law, and ethics).
  • Experience holding suppliers accountable through business reviews, supplier scorecards and key performance indicators.
  • Must possess excellent communication and influencing skills as well as strong interpersonal communication skills for building relationships with internal leadership and stakeholders in addition to suppliers.
  • Must be comfortable with operating in a continuous improvement atmosphere and achieving year-over-year results.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Position requires up to 10% travel, as necessary, domestic, and international (passport required) to support MCC business requirements.

  • Location: hybrid, preferably Rosemont IL, or Batavia, OH; will consider another MCC facility in the United States for the right candidate.
