Georgia Pacific's mill in in Pennington, AL is currently seeking a Woodyard Master Technician - Production Lead. This position will work in a high energy, dynamic organization and will be responsible for safety operating and performing preventative maintenance on the equipment which allows for smooth and successful operation in the woodyard. Woodyard Master Technicians work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am to include holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. The starting pay is $34.10 per hour. Employees who demonstrate the skills and abilities to advance to the next level have the potential to earn $36.23 per hour.

Our Team

The Naheola Mill located in Pennington, Alabama is a manufacturing site for the company's well-known consumer products business, producing a wide range of products for the consumer business, including Angel Soft bath tissue and Sparkle paper towels, as well as bleached paperboard used in Dixie paper cups and plates. The mill is the largest employer in the community and is engaged in supporting community outreach, workforce development, and education.

What You Will Do
* Lead the workforce in ways that are consistent with Principle Based Management (PBM), our company's cultural philosophy: [1] Life at Koch | Vision & Principles, and align with the Woodyard vision of OBWS (Owner Based Work System)
* Serve as a resource for platform technology and reliability and for the Woodyard area of responsibility
* Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the team
* Proactively identify hazards and validate that controls exist to mitigate risk and to ensure a safe work environment is maintained
* Understand individual capabilities of all team members and lead the efforts to identify and close gaps
* Understand individual team members' comparative advantages and deploy resources as needed to ensure maximum effectiveness of the complex
* Understand overall reliability vision and priorities, ensuring all team members understand their role and are executing the strategies as required
* Perform work at up to 80-foot heights
* Know and understand all identified Key Performance Indicators and proactively execute action plans to close gaps
* Operate equipment within operating targets and limits along with providing feedback on improvements
* Track equipment and production losses and own the plan to capture highest value opportunities
* Effectively prioritize, schedule, and execute tasks within work area

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* High school diploma or GED
* A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Experience inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the root cause of errors or other problems or defects
* Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing systems, equipment, and components
* Experience using written and verbal communication skills to learn and deliver instructional methods and procedures, i.e.: Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
* Experience using a computer or tablet for documentation and/or recordkeeping functions, and basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience operating heavy equipment; wheel loaders, skid steers, knuckle booms, bobcats, etc.

What Will Put You Ahead
* Experience in executing precision maintenance practices
* Woodyard experience
* A minimum of two (2) years of experience leading a team and/or directing the work of others in an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
* Experience reading and understanding P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams) and PLCs logic (programmable logic controllers)
