Position Description
The Senior Accountant position performs a lead role in the Financial Accounting Operations area while also assisting with routine operational duties. The individual is responsible for preparing and reviewing reconcilements and recording accounting journal entries. The individual plays a critical role in the monthly closing process and the preparation of the quarterly Call Report and other regulatory reports. The individual will also assist in other financial accounting roles including quarterly reporting and the budget process.

Position Accountabilities
* Reviews routine reconcilements prepared by accounting team and other bank departments.
* Prepares reconcilements to assist in the operational accounting process.
* Prepares and reviews general ledger entries in accordance with bank procedures and GAAP.
* Maintains and monitors the Financial Accounting SOX control matrix.
* Prepares company consolidations and elimination entries.
* Performs monthly closing process duties including closing of companies and detail analytics of operating results.
* Manages the OREO accounting process including posting of activity, closing related subsidiaries and application of GAAP.
* Manages and prepares regulatory reports including the quarterly call reports and Y9 and develops a thorough understanding of regulatory reporting requirements.
* Reviews accounting processes for operational efficiencies and develops enhancements.
* Researches accounting guidance as required.
* Assists in preparation of SEC reports, 10K & 10Q.
* Assists in budget preparation under the direction of the Financial Analysis/Treasury Department.

Organizational Relationship
The position reports to the Manager of Financial Accounting in the Financial Accounting operations area and works closely with the Financial Reporting team, Treasury and other bank departments.

Position Qualifications
Education & Experience
* Undergraduate degree in Accounting or equivalent educational background.
* Working knowledge of GAAP.
* Three-five of years accounting experience, preferably with financial institutions experience.
* CPA or candidate preferred.

Knowledge & Skills
* Knowledge of accounting principles and financial institutions
* Proficient PC skills including spreadsheet, word processing and accounting applications.
* Strong oral and written skills with ability to prepare and present financial information.
* Analytical and problem solving skills
* Well developed interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work well in teams
* Ability to adapt to change and foster growth that results from change

Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
