Precinmac is a leading supplier of mission-critical, precision machined components used in the aerospace and defense, semiconductor, and automation equipment sectors. We specialize in manufacturing uniquely designed high tolerance precision machined components and assemblies, with a focus on continuous improvement, on-time delivery, and the highest possible quality and consistency.

We are looking for a Quality Manager who has a drive for excellence and experience in medium to high complexity metals manufacturing.

Description of Responsibilities:

The Quality Manager function is responsible for ensuring internal and externally produced parts are sampled against pertinent specifications and records are monitored and kept per MMP and customer procedures. Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production and finished products. Manages day to day activities of quality dept. to ensure customer requirements are met and product flows through QC effectively and efficiently.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong people interpersonal communicating skills.
  • Thorough understanding and utilization of the root cause/corrective action process both on-site and within supply base.
  • Knowledge and utilization of lean manufacturing principles including non-production environments
  • Strong background in SPC, tool maintenance and measurement practices.
  • Ability to read blueprints and other technical data.
  • Computer literate with experience in Windows based programs
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Sound business sense: ability to analyze, prioritize, identify and execute solutions
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • A comprehensive understanding of the machining industry:
  • Ability to understand and communicate various customer specific process specifications (ASTM, SAE, ISO, Mil-Standards)
  • Strong background in calibration processes and practices

Position-Specific Qualifications

  • Able to manage workflow within the department ensuring deadlines are met
  • Able to manage MMP AS9100 QMS processes, internal audits, and other related certification requirements. Acts as the QMS Management Representative for QMS.
  • Thorough understanding and utilization of the root cause/corrective action process both on-site and within the supply base
  • Strong background in SPC, tool maintenance and measurement practices.
  • Knowledge and utilization of lean manufacturing principles including non-production environments.
  • Able to manage non-conformance within the supply base through utilization of the Supplier Corrective Action process
  • Able to direct Quality associates to perform incoming material inspections by confirming specifications, conducts visual and measurement tests, rejects and accepts product in ERP system and returns discrepant materials to its source.
  • Able to facilitate and direct associates to perform in-process production product inspections by confirming specifications, conducts visual and measurement tests communicating required adjustments to production supervision.
  • Can approve finished product by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning product for rework and confirming reworked product.
  • Can document inspection results by completing forms, logs and systems.
  • Keeps measurement devices operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs as needed.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as directed and as needed.

Minimum Educational and/or Experience Level

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing a quality organization within an ISO QMS system
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience with proven results
  • Ability to understand and communicate various customer specific process specifications (ASTM, SAE, ISO, Mil-Standards)

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

  • CMI, CQT or other job-related certification
