Organizational Unit Overview |
The purpose of the
ECU Student Media is threefold: 1) to provide a training ground for students interested in gaining real-life experience in print and broadcast production: 2) to provide news, information, and entertainment to the campus community; and 3) to provide a forum for the free expression of issues and ideas affecting the campus. Student Media consist of The East Carolinian, the campus newspaper;
WZMB 91.3 FM, the campus radio station; Anchors Away, the graduation magazine; Expressions, a minority student publication; Rebel, an annual literary/art magazine, and The Ad Agency, an ad and marketing agency. |
Job Duties |
The Advertising & Marketing Associate is charged with generating revenues across media platforms. Primary responsibility is to help generate revenue through advertising sales and promotions, developing and implementing sales strategies and activities that ensure annual goals are met, and implementing organizational policies and goals. The Advertising & Marketing Associate will assess and provide feedback on sales development and contracts, participate in reviews of sales territories, provide recommendations on necessary changes in territories and monitor sales operations to ensure effective customer service. The Student Services Specialist, with the working title of Advertising & Marketing Associate, also works with student staff members of the Student Media Advertising & Marketing Agency as directed by the Advertising & Marketing Adviser and/or Student Media Director. |

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
