Birchwood Health Care Center, a Lifespark Skilled Nursing Community, is looking for a dedicated and passionate End of Life Doula to join our growing team.

Birchwood Health Care Center is home to seniors requiring TCU (Transitional Care Unit) Care and Long-Term Care. We are in Forest Lake, near North Shore Dr and Forest Lake. We have been helping seniors Age Magnificently since 1979 and are part of Senior Care Communities, a local non-profit supporting seniors.

Schedule: 3 days per week - M, W, F or T, W, Th. - 24 hours per week
Wage: $21.00 - $23.69

Our End of Life Doula's become family and impact the lives of our residents who live in a Lifespark Skilled Nursing Community. In this position, assist in providing non-medical, holistic support and comfort to the dying residents of a skilled nursing facility. Duties associated with the position will include offering spiritual, emotional, and educational offerings to residents and their loved ones prior to, and during, the death of the resident. The End of Life Doula will partner with leadership of the Full Circle Care Program to support self-determination of the dying resident. Assist in implementing the integrative therapies of essential oils, massage, energy work, and/or guided imagery. They partner with full circle care program to support the development of best practices and tools for expanding program into other levels of care.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Must have completed an approved end of life doula program.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of palliative care measures.
  • Must have a background and effective communication skills in providing support for family and caregivers around grief and bereavement.
  • Experience in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team as well as family and caregivers in the areas of physical, spiritual, and emotional support needs
  • Experience in documenting doula/resident/caregiver visits and considerations
  • Possess creative ability to support needs for visual imagery, legacy work, and complementary care to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the dying.
