SUMMARY

Accurately weighs, prepares, and delivers required dyes and chemicals to all beam and jet dye machines in a timely manner to minimize machine down time. Receives dye order from control room operator and reviews the dye recipe. Weighs all dyes using the electric scale. Print the scale readout after weighing each dye to verify accuracy of preparation. Verify cleanliness of dye cans prior to preparing any dyes. Mix dyes using the established written standard procedures. Disperse dyes. Deliver dye cans / chemical buckets along with copy of dye order to the correct dye machine.

Responsible for assuring quality and consistency of shade matches to establish standards. Maintain production schedules for dye equipment in addition to maintaining a historical physical record of shade performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Schedule dye lots based delivery dates/order of importance, etc.
  • Release lots based on the acceptability of the shade to its standard
  • Adjust, including adds, to shades.
  • Identify corrective actions; record reasons/causes for any non-acceptable shade prior to making dye adds.
  • Monitor cycle times on all production machinery; make note of any exceptions to standards.
  • Indirect supervisor of beam and jet operators and batching operators.
  • Effective communicate dyeing judgments to operators in a timely manner to avoid miscommunication and production downtime.
  • Assist operators in resolving problems relating to raw materials, SOPs and equipment.
  • Maintain color folder and dye card for each production dye order and shade.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management to achieve the total objective of this position.
  • Performs additional duties as requested, needed, or assigned.

  • Read, write, and speak and understand in English, to interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,reports, business correspondence, regulatory and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one-year position-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skilled knowledge or direct experience in Material Handling and/or Shipping processes is a plus.
