Job Summary:

The Raval Cardiovascular Regenerative Medicine Lab in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking to recruit an outstanding Scientist to investigate and develop novel delivery methods, devices, biologics, imaging tools for the evaluation and treatment of advanced heart and vascular disease. In close coordination with the Center for Biomedical Swine Research and Innovation, combined with various Laboratory Core facilities on campus and off campus, the Scientist will develop and test methods to improve transplanted cell retention and engraftment, study underlying cell signaling/extracellular matrix/biomechanical effects and mechanisms, and evaluate therapeutic outcomes in mouse and pig cardiac disease models. Additionally, the Scientist will participate in FDA and IRB regulatory submissions for IND and IDE, industry sponsored clinical trial initiatives and investigator initiated clinical research on patient phenotypes recruited into bio-therapeutic trials. The individual will be fully immersed in the world of bench to bedside cardiovascular translational research. The individual is expected to develop extensive academic and industry networks to assist in their research. Long-term career development is highly emphasized in the Raval Lab.

Education:

Required
PhD in Cardiac Cell and Regenerative Biology, Cardiac Biomedical Engineering, Cardiovascular Clinical trial development, Tissue Engineering or closely related field is required by the start date of the position.


Qualifications:

Required:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- History of successful first/lead/senior author original science publications
- Experience in cardiovascular related research

Preferred:
- 1 year of experience in cell culture and differentiation, translational animal models, cardiovascular disease applications
- 1 year of experience in flow cytometry, mass spec and immunohistochemistry performance and analysis
- At least 6 months of experience in cardiovascular imaging
- 1 year of experience in clinical-trials research

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $60,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The anticipated minimum starting salary for the position is $60,000 for hire as Scientist I or $70,000 for Scientist II. Starting salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
