Segra is searching for a dynamic and experienced Data Center Facility Engineer in West Virginia or Virginia.

Role Overview:

Under the supervision and direction of the manager, this position would be expected to perform engineering tasks of considerable technical difficulty that includes analyzing, evaluating, designing, planning, or modifying all facets of telecommunication facilities and equipment. This position would be responsible for daily technical guidance, and assistance/training to Operations staff and contractor personnel. This job requires skills to fully engineer, design and maintain critical systems supporting Transport, Data and Voice telecom components in our owned and leased facilities.

Required Qualifications:



  • Must have experience with DC power plants, AC power feeds, HVAC systems, and fire suppression systems
  • Must have 3 years of prior relevant experience
  • Must have an understanding of local and national electric codes
  • Must have prior experience working with local utility representatives and government regulators



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Education: 4yr Technical College Degree preferred. National Electrical Code, National Fire Code and Data Center Infrastructure Certifications may be substituted for 4 year degree.
  • Experience: 3 Years experience specifying DC power plant components including rectifiers, batteries, and power cabling. Knowledge of the telecommunications industry practices and standards. Knowledge of BTU calculation and HVAC requirements. Knowledge of Fire Suppression systems. Knowledge of Alarm systems. National Electrical Code, National Fire Code, and Data Center Infrastructure Certifications may be substituted for experience.
  • Key Competencies: National Fire Code National Electrical Code (NEC) Standards. Building Industry Consulting Service International (BISCI) Data Center Standards. Data Center Tiers. ANSI/TIA-942 Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Data Center. GR-1502-CORE ( Central Office Environment Detail Engineering Generic Requirements). Local, State, and Federal Infrastructure and building code.
