Summary of Job Description:

The Data Governance Manager is responsible for accelerating business transformation through data governance and data quality. This position plays a pivotal role in running data governance programs in collaboration with and guidance from the Data and Business Intelligence (BI) Center of Excellence. The DG Manager is responsible for administering the DG platform, ensuring the content of the DG platform is up to date by collaborating with the business users and teams within IS. In addition, this position is responsible for raising awareness of the DG program and its adoption through meetings and training sessions with users and technical collaboration with IS teams. The DG Manager creates metrics to monitor DG platform usage, progress of user training on BI technologies and business topics, and overall effectiveness of BI/data usage within the company.

You'll get a chance to:

  • Partners with the BI Center of Excellence to develop and implement a comprehensive data governance program, including data cataloguing and purging. Creates the general records retention and classification policy, identifying how data are classified in terms of security level and confidentiality.
  • Collaborates with data owners, stewards, and other COE functions to establish data ownership, accountability and stewardship responsibilities. Performs training and education on data governance and security.
  • Develops and implements a plan to provide continual assurance of the quality of data and data products. Responsible for determining what information the company maintains and how long to maintain it.
  • Interfaces with business users and IS teams to catalogue systems, data sources, and definition of assets collected in the DG platform. Helps departments determine business requirements for all information for securing, retaining, and deleting information.
  • Collaborates with IS teams to establish data lineage for critical data flows. Owsn the technical processes related to establishing data lineage end to end - data sources, ETL tools, data storage (data lake, etc.), data warehouse, and visualization layer.
  • Manages technical documents, including architectural diagrams and data flow diagrams. Ensures business critical processes are documented, organized, and easily accessible.
  • Functions as the first line of contact with DG platform vendor for upgrades, maintenance, and feature upgrades.

Your background and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems, Computer Science or related field required.
  • Minimum five years of data governance experience, including data engineering, data warehousing, analytics, and Business Intelligence (BI), with increasing management responsibility
  • CDMP, ITIL Foundation certification, and IT Security certification preferred
  • Successful completion of initial and periodically required training (including but not limited to store training, Recognizing & Preventing Sexual Harassment training, Conscious inclusion training, and Landmark Forum, etc.).
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position

Pay Range: $112,500 - $158,000 / Annual

* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.

ADA Statement:

While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high. Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, have effective verbal communication skills, ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities, and the ability to manage conflicts/difficult situations.
