DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Examiner 1, you will focus primarily on auditing expenditure transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures and ensuring critical pay dates are met. You will be required to follow and complete an audit checklist to determine legality and correctness as well as analyze supporting documentation and note pertinent or significant information in corresponding databases. In this position, you will be responsible for determining the processing order of your assigned items based on due date, age, and if additional reviews are required. At times, it will be necessary for you to correspond with auditee resource accounts when additional information is required to complete the audit.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. Management may discontinue the telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
- An Associate Degree in Accounting or Business Administration including or supplemented by six credits of Accounting; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
Additional Requirements:
- You must have experience using Microsoft applications.
- You must be willing and able to pre-audit accounts payable and general ledger transactions.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
- Possession of a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
