What You'll Do

The Corporate Compliance Counsel will be responsible for developing/maintaining, implementing, and overseeing the company's compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. The Corporate Compliance Counsel will also work closely with other members of the legal department in providing support to the business units on general legal matters. This role requires a proactive individual who can navigate complex legal environments and provide strategic advice to safeguard the company's reputation and operations globally.

Compliance Program Development:



  • Design/maintain and implement comprehensive compliance programs tailored to the company's global operations.
  • Develop/improve policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.


Regulatory Adherence:



  • Monitor developments in relevant laws and regulations affecting the company's operations.
  • Provide legal guidance on regulatory compliance across domestic and foreign jurisdictions.


Risk Management:



  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of vulnerabilities.


Training and Education:



  • Create/improve and deliver training programs to educate employees on compliance policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and ethical business practices throughout the organization.


Audit Compliance:



  • Conduct periodic audits to test compliance with key company compliance policies


Internal Investigations:



  • Liaise with VP Internal Audit and Investigations regarding internal investigations of compliance-related issues or incidents.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve compliance matters effectively.


Legal Advisory Role:



  • Advise corporate and business unit management on compliance and other legal matters.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Human Resources, Finance, Internal Audit, and Operations, to integrate compliance measures into business processes.



What You'll Bring



  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree from an accredited institution.
  • Must have an active bar license and be in good standing.
  • A minimum of five years of in-depth experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related legal field, preferably within the industrial manufacturing sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of global regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Proven track record in developing, implementing, and managing compliance programs.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identifies and solves complex problems, thinking beyond existing solutions and frameworks.
  • Comfortable in balancing competing priorities and changes in scope/direction to align with team and business objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills: Ability to clearly articulate and visually present complex legal advice for senior executives; excellent written work product (compliance policies, procedures, training)
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule with onsite days in Salem, NH and travel as necessary 10-20%



What We Value



  • Previous experience in a multinational corporate environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of global data privacy, trade compliance and responsible sourcing regulations and standards is highly desirable.
