Introduction:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Level 2 SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing SCCM infrastructure and client configurations to ensure seamless software deployment, patch management, and overall system performance. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced IT environment.

What you'll be doing

SCCM Infrastructure Support:

  • Install, configure, and maintain SCCM servers and related systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot SCCM site servers, clients, and the overall SCCM environment.
  • Assist in managing SCCM components like distribution points, management points, and reporting services.

Software Deployment & Patching:

  • Develop, test, and deploy software packages using SCCM.
  • Manage and automate software updates and patches to ensure all systems are up to date and secure.
  • Troubleshoot failed software deployments and patch installations.

Client Management:

  • Manage SCCM client installation and troubleshooting for end-users.
  • Ensure proper client health and resolve client issues across multiple devices.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Use SCCM and other monitoring tools to track system performance, software deployment success rates, and patch compliance.
  • Create, configure, and manage reports to track software and hardware inventory, deployments, and patching status.

Troubleshooting & Support:

  • Provide Level 2 technical support for SCCM-related incidents and issues escalated from the Level 1 team.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions for complex issues within the SCCM environment.

Collaboration & Documentation:

  • Work closely with the Level 1 support team, system administrators, and other IT staff to resolve issues and improve systems.
  • Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference and knowledge sharing.

System Optimization & Best Practices:

  • Continuously assess SCCM environment for improvements and ensure the use of industry best practices.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to SCCM infrastructure and processes.
Location and Travel Details:
  • This is a remote opportunity with some travel to the client site.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Travel to the People's Republic of China is prohibited for this role.

Security Clearance and Citizenship Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Secret clearance.
Required For This Opportunity:
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), including version upgrades, deployments, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows OS deployment, and patch management.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with software packaging, application deployment, and task sequences.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working with SCCM or related technologies in an enterprise environment.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues related to SCCM and endpoint management.

  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive approach to service delivery.
