Sr Mechanical Engineer is responsible for working with a team of mechanical engineers in the analysis and redesign of Head Up Guidance Systems cast aluminum chassis components.

The Engineer will analyze complex cast aluminum parts in a regulated avionics environment to determine impact of vendor non-conformances. The Engineer is responsible for reviewing aluminum castings measurement data, comparing it against models and drawing requirements, and determining any impacts to the Form, Fit or Function of the part. The engineer will perform this work in a regulated avionics quality and configuration management environment. The engineer will be responsible for determining and implementing design and drawing updates as well as reviewing vendor changes associated with those design updates.

Responsibilities:

* Mechanical Engineer position with emphasis on technical analysis

* Advanced skills in GD&T - read and interpret prints per ASME Y14.5

* Analyze investment castings measurement data and determine deviations from mechanical model

* Perform within the guidelines a quality management system

* Work with Project Engineer to coordinate assignments and activities.

* Technical review of sub tier supplier hardware in accordance with engineering requirements

* Present project status and progress in team meetings

* Perform tolerance analysis

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Equivalent STEM degree will be considered if the candidate has applicable experience.

Requirements:

6+ years of engineering design is required.

Advanced skill with mechanical drawing GD&T is required

Experience with tightly toleranced investment castings is required.

Experience working in a quality-controlled environment is required

Advanced tolerance analysis skills required
