Cloud Security Architect

RCG is a growing federal contracting company and Certified as a Great Place to Work. We are currently seeking a Cloud Security Architect to support our government client site in Suitland, MD. Local individuals will work a hybrid schedule (3 days on-site 2 days remote). Out of state individuals ONLY, will work a remote schedule.

Due to security requirements, all successful candidates will be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident and be able to successfully pass the required background check. Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance (Preference is to hold a current and active Secret clearance).

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

Security Systems Architect will participate as the SME member of a highly focused team that will re-architect legacy systems at a government agency to improve performance, scalability and security, and to bring them into compliance with standards. The team member will:




  • Analyze and validate security requirements and allocate them to system components and subcomponents.
  • Contribute to Requirements and Design Documents, participate in formal reviews and follow up on action items.
  • Evaluate and recommend technical solutions to meet approved requirements.
  • Verify system compliance with security requirements.
  • Implement and test solutions in accordance with approved requirements and designs.
  • Provide advice on the continuous monitoring of the information system
  • Provide advice on the impacts of system changes to the security of the system
  • Participate in the configuration management process
  • Participate in any acquisition/development activities that are required to implement a system change
  • Implement approved system changes
  • Provides security architecting support to the FISMA high and moderate systems, projects and efforts as per NIST SP800-160
  • Participate in security reviews and analyze, review and recommend appropriate disposition of security scan, report vulnerabilities and findings. Prepare statement of need for solution and cost estimate.
  • Report to Program Manager / Deputy Program Manager



Requirements:



  • U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident and be able to successfully pass the required background check.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering or 10 years of experience in IT Systems Engineering or IT security architecture.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience
  • CISSP certification and at least one relevant IT Security and/or IT Security Architecture certification from either International Information System Security Consortium (ISC)2 or Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), or CompTia Security+.
  • Expertise in applicability of FISMA, OMB mandates to include HSPD-12 and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), NIST SP 800 800-37 and NIST SP 800-53 (latest applicable revisions).
  • 8+ years' experience in related field; expertise to provide security architecting activities and POA&M management activities.
  • BS/BA in Information Technology, IT Architecting or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in team environment, with strong customer service and interpersonal skills in the English language.
  • Knowledge of RMF, NIST SP800-160, security controls implementation and verification, security tools usage such as Tenable security center/Nessus, IBM BigFix Suite, WebInspect.
  • Must be able to work in hybrid work environment including both on-site and telework.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, collaborate with various people and organizations
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written in the English language



Certifications:



  • At least one (1) relevant Security or Architecture cert from either (ISC)2 or ISACA, or CompTIA
