Responsible for bridging performance improvement with evidence-based infection prevention and patient safety practices. This individual may serve in a dual role as the organization's Infection Control Officer and Patient Safety Officer, responsible for the surveillance, analysis, and reporting of health care acquired infections, education of employees about infection control and assisting with the development of policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards are met.
Essential Functions -Manages and coordinates the hospital wide Infection Control Program. -Identifies communicable disease cases to be reported to the appropriate health department. -Develops, implements, and evaluates the organizational infection prevention program. -Supervises staff by assigning and distributing work, directing staff in their job duties, monitoring progress of work, providing feedback and/or training. -Develops new programs based on needs analysis in accordance with local, state, and/or federal requirements. Education - Certification in Infection Prevention and Control [CIC] required - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred One to Two years of Supervisory/Leadership experience in a healthcare system or hospital required Mass General Brigham Incorporated is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
