THE POSITION

This position will involve in person support of Commonwealth personnel at several buildings within the Harrisburg Capitol Complex. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In your role as an Information Technology Intern, you will provide technical assistance to staff and customers on hardware and software-related issues. This includes installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer systems, hardware, and software. You will be expected to monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise, consistently following established procedures and processes for computer maintenance. You will have the opportunity to provide training and support to team members on the use of computer systems and software. Additional duties include performing system backups, maintaining accurate records, and researching and recommending solutions for technical problems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Internship from May 2025 through August 2025.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Internship Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in college full-time (carrying 12 or more undergraduate credits, or 9 or more graduate credits).
  • Be 18 years of age and in good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualification (not required):

  • Majoring in: Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology.

Legal Requirements:

  • The selected candidate for this position must undergo a fingerprint-based records check to be in compliance with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS).
