Strategic Development Specialist

Bolton & Menk is expanding our Water and Municipal services and we are looking for a Strategic Development Specialist to assist in our efforts. Bolton & Menk is a regional consulting engineering firm specializing in public service with over 75 years of experience in municipal infrastructure in North Carolina and beyond. Bolton & Menk, Inc. has served public and private clients with comprehensive planning, design and construction engineering and surveying services.

We are looking to add a Strategic Development Specialist who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in a Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Community and is interested in developing additional partner communities in North Carolina. In this role you will be responsible for development and implementation of business solutions, thought leadership and support for our Water and Municipal Divisions. You will be building and maintaining superior customer relations while exploring solutions to fit the client specific needs and generate meaningful project outcomes. Key to this position is the development of business for our engineering and professional staff in help communities deliver civil engineering projects. This position will also include recruitment, mentoring and coaching our team to help increase consulting skills and generate new business and client successes throughout all the services we provide. You'll have the confidence that you're joining a growing business line in an established firm and can team with great leaders.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Inspire strategic vision that drives client success and growth by building and maintaining client relationships and partner networks
• Proactively identify and contact potential new clients, candidates and strategic partners
• Network and build relationships with new or existing clients at industry events and advocating Bolton & Menk interests in land development
• Business Development of Civil Engineering Infrastructure projects to help grow our Water and Municipal Divisions and maintain regular contact with community leaders
• Help recruit, build and mentor our evolving team in the art of consultative client leadership
• Ensure project teams develop and delivers strategic solutions for clients
• Support community planning projects and tasks through engagement efforts, including collecting and analyzing data, informing studies and reports, and facilitating coordination between project stakeholders

What We Are Looking For:

• B.S. Degree from an accredited college
• Twelve (12) or more years of progressive experience
• Effective supervisory and team leadership skills
• Knowledge of infrastructure needs of clients and funding mechanisms in North Carolina
• Requires frequent travel and may include extended overnight stays
