Technical Services manages the lifecycle of library resources from acquisition through access. The team handles acquisitions, cataloging, e-resource management, course reserves, and resource sharing workflows that make the library's collections discoverable, accessible, and affordable to the Georgia Tech community. Working collaboratively across library units, Technical Services manages library resource metadata, ensures seamless access to resources, and develops efficient workflows to support the library's mission. The department emphasizes collaboration, customer service, and innovation in meeting the evolving needs of our academic community. Job Summary
Provides access to materials that are critical to the teaching, learning, and research mission of the university. Responsible for the day-to-day processing of digital and physical material requests. Provides access and technical services support to GT library patrons, including cataloging, acquisitions, course reserves, and resource sharing. Individual responsibilities will vary. This position will interact on a regular basis with: faculty, students, staff, unit management, vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: faculty, students, unit staff. Job Duty 1 - Provide a wide array of access and technical services for the Library. The duties to follow cover the key responsibilities for the department as a whole; individual responsibilities will vary.
