Job Description

Searching for a Network Engineer who can design and implement equipment installation plans based on the government security specifications, maintain each component of the network and troubleshoot issues. The Engineer will be responsible for monitoring the network firewall, assessing the functionality of the network routers, ensuring all Internet security software is updated regularly, and provide proposals for upgrades. This position works with higher-level technicians to maintain, modify and document complex fielded electronic or mechanical systems. The individual is also responsible for researching and suggesting changes/enhancements to modify or correct failures or shortfalls in assigned fielded systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Become intimately familiar with the Joint Pacific Alaska Range (JPARC) network, a large, complex system comprised of many different vendors/equipment/grids to include multiple and remote sites (some only accessible by helicopter) in order to maintain/upgrade/modify the network without serious network disruptions; this knowledge/familiarity is critical to support the following general responsibilities:
  • From general guidelines and specifications (e.g., size or weight requirements), develop designs for equipment without critical performance requirements that are difficult to satisfy such as engine parts, research instruments, or special purpose circuitry. Analyze technical data to determine applicability to design problems; select from several possible design layouts; calculate design data; and prepare layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc.; may check and analyze drawings or equipment to determine adequacy of drawings and design
  • Plan or assist in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance; determine test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures; conduct tests using needed instruments; analyze/evaluate test results, & prepare reports on findings & recommendations
  • Coordinate with the government/customer and other contractors for scheduling, planning, execution, and reporting of range maintenance, upgrades, and modifications to ensure no impact to ongoing operations on the JPARC while assuring timely compliance
  • Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selections
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentations and internet resources
  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable and flexible when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with TDXi's Quality Control and Safety Programs
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program manager


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



  • 3+ years' experience in network architecture, design and deployment
  • Demonstrated/documented professional programming experience
  • Demonstrated depth of electronics knowledge, including circuit theory and analysis, power (AC and DC) distribution, audio video, RF, microwave, and digital electronics
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret schematics, component specifications, pictorials, and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) layouts
  • Proficiency with Auto CAD or similar software
  • Experience with configuration management, to include physical location, electrical, mechanical, and software configuration of systems
  • Sec+ certification and certification on an operating system

  • US Citizen // Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain is required
  • Applicants must have a valid state driver's license
  • Passport required
