Summary: The Central Inpatient Pharmacy at UNC Medical Center employs a fully automated distribution system with 24/7 365 operation to service nearly 1,000 beds, including a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Department of Pharmacy at UNC Healthcare is recognized nationally as a leader in innovative pharmacy practice and has received numerous ASHP Best Practice Awards in Health-System Pharmacy. We are culturally diverse and have a variety of backgrounds, interests, capabilities, and experience. Our team is seeking a highly-motivated, dedicated, and energetic pharmacist to help continue providing this excellent patient care on the night shift. This person will work closely with other members of the Department of Pharmacy to optimize medication use and drug distribution services, including order verification, code attendance, non-sterile and sterile product checking, and rotating coverage at Hillsborough and Pediatrics Pharmacies as needed. The shift hours are 9pm to 7am with a 7 days on 7 days off schedule. Qualified candidates will have earned a BS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school/college of pharmacy and must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of North Carolina. The designation of Board Certification and completion of a PGY1 and PGY2 residency or an equivalent level of hospital pharmacy experience is also preferred. Differential:
Responsibilities: 1. Receives prescriptions, interprets prescriptions, and reviews the patient's medication profile /history. Clarifies incomplete, inaccurate, or contraindicated prescriptions with the prescriber, nurse, or other health professional, as appropriate. Identifies and intervenes on problems related to the medication needs of the patient.
