- Participate in and support programs, methods, systems and practices for maintaining a safe work environment. Reviews the HESS program requirements with those in the department and recommends improvements to maintain compliance and excellence.
- This position is accountable for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring Electrical programs and activities at the site.
- Primary contact with Operations Superintendent concerning the planning, scheduling, and implementation of the daily repair workload related to Electrical work.
- Create and maintain electrical PMs as required.
- Creates/maintains Bill of Materials (BOM's) for all electrical equipment in assigned areas of the plant. Ensures accuracy of Stores inventory by evaluating maintenance needs, specifications, and quantities.
- Implements training programs to ensure continuing progression of the electrical technician's qualifications.
- Responsible for annual performance reviews, coaching and feedback for direct reports.
- Participates in the design and implementation of equipment and process improvements, materials of construction improvements and efficiency and cost control improvements.
- Procures equipment, materials and services per plant specifications and procedures, using SAP to initiate, process, and track purchase requisitions and deliveries. Maintains good time and cost estimates, and cost control.
- Liaison to contractors performing I&E work within the facility. Indirectly oversees the work of contract groups and evaluates results. Evaluates contractor performance and makes recommendations for contractor assignments. Evaluates non-resident contractor performance, including quality & safety performance; provides feedback to Purchasing regarding contractor performance.
- Makes recommendations on projects such as timelines, labor requirements, work scope and materials. Advises engineers on specifications, materials of construction, etc.
- Assists the Technical Department with projects involving electrical systems.
- Responsible for the reliability of the power distribution system, the rectifiers, and all associated controls.
- Periodically review the site electrical procedures for accuracy and compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.Provide training to technicians on any changes as required.
- Keep current on safety for electrical workers as regulated by OSHA and other regulatory bodies, such as NFPA 70E.
- Help oversee the electrical protocol and electrical PSM and ISO activities to ensure appropriate plant compliance.
- Interpret and modify drawings including P&ID's, control diagrams, schematics, ladder logic, etc. for initial design reviews and plant modifications.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of practical electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment which includes a good working knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques, and safeguards or a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team.
- High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and good working knowledge of SAP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak in English.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to off hours business needs on a non-routine basis.
- Physical requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with supervising a group of electrical professionals preferred.
