The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the prototyping of consumer electronics products, ensuring high-quality prototype models are created using SLA technology. This role requires a keen attention to detail, technical expertise, and a passion for developing cutting-edge prototypes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Stereolithography Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain SLA 3D printers to produce high-quality prototype models for consumer electronics products.
  • Design Interpretation: Work closely with engineering and product design teams to understand prototype specifications, ensuring the accurate creation of parts from CAD models.
  • Post-Processing: Perform post-processing tasks such as cleaning, curing, sanding, and finishing parts to meet required tolerances and visual standards.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and assess the printed parts to ensure that they meet all functional and aesthetic requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during the printing or post-processing stages.
  • Material Management: Maintain an organized inventory of SLA resins and materials, ensuring proper usage and storage in compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, providing feedback on the feasibility and manufacturability of prototypes, and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Keep accurate records of build processes, materials used, and any anomalies during production. Provide feedback on improvements for future builds and project iterations.
  • Maintenance & Calibration: Perform regular maintenance and calibration on SLA printers to ensure optimal performance and quality.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience: Proven experience working with Stereolithography (SLA) 3D printers, preferably in a prototyping or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with 3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Rhino) for model preparation. Experience with slicing software (e.g., PreForm) and other related tools is a plus.
  • Hands-On Expertise: Strong experience in post-processing and finishing techniques for SLA printed parts, including sanding, curing, and painting.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and precision in the production of prototype parts, especially when working with intricate electronics components.
  • Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving printer or part quality issues during the build process.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols in additive manufacturing environments, including handling resins and chemicals.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively collaborate with team members and provide feedback.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with consumer electronics product development and prototyping.
  • Familiarity with additional additive manufacturing technologies (e.g., FDM, SLS) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of electronics assembly or mechanical/electrical integration for prototypes is a plus.
