JOB SUMMARY:

Support business objectives and initiatives of the Amesbury Lean Team. Provides Engineering, Quality expertise, and /or support to other departments where needed. Ensures that all systems, projects, and processes are in conformance with the organization policies. Develop ideas for product/process enhancements and oversee the creation and improvement of systems and processes. Lead, direct and monitor the work of project teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and coordinate Lean activities needed to assure continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and improve processes and procedures and prioritizes product/process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide engineering expertise and/or support to other departments where needed.
  • Promotes and lives the Munters Core Values.
  • Focus Improvement (Quick, Standard, Major & Advanced Kaizen Coordination)
  • Train on Lean principles, systems, and tools for attacking waste and barriers to Flow.
  • Travel up to 10% annually.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Experience with Lean Systems and Tools, Flow, Waste Identification and elimination
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ergonomics, standardization and waste
  • Proven self-starter.
  • Motivated, confident and persistent in meeting project goals.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility across the organization to drive change
  • Solution driven, with developed analytical and project management skills
  • Strong customer focus and persistent business approach
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels and in a multicultural environment.
  • Track record of effective leadership skills, the ability to build consensus amongst co-workers and the ability to facilitate problem resolution.
  • Strong team collaborative skills and ability to work within teams.
  • Life learner.
  • Able to flex between competing priorities to keep improvement activities moving.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years Lean Engineering or 10+ years of manufacturing experience, ideally with a metal forming and assembly background.
  • Strong background in Lean concepts in ISO-certified companies.
  • Previous experience leading engineering and/or operations teams.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical degree.
  • Quality, Six Sigma, and advanced degree a plus.
