Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES) is seeking a highly motivated professional to fill a role as a Turnaround and Project Estimator while driving transformation in the estimating process. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates while leveraging data analytics to optimize and automate the collection of project data, enhancing future estimation processes.

Our Team

Members of the KAES Team must thrive in fast paced and innovative environments. The Project Services Capability supports project and turnaround execution at all KAES plants and within our terminal network. We value data transparency to deliver a competitive advantage and utilize Aspentech CCE and associated internally developed platforms to support these objectives. This position will be based in Wichita, Kansas.

Travel can be up to 25% to industrial construction and operating environments. Travel is flexible depending on needs at the business/site and is largely controlled by the individual.

What You Will Do
* Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on plans, specifications, and related documents and present the results to stakeholders.
* Develop proof of concept and collaborate to automate the collection and integration of data to improve accuracy and efficiency in cost estimation.
* Identify, mitigate, and eliminate risks or gaps and influence competitive project outcomes through estimate reviews and benchmarking analytics. Actively participate in field walk downs, constructability and interactive planning sessions.
* Collaborate with project/TA managers and stakeholders to ensure data-driven estimating approaches.
* Utilize KAES estimating tools for cost estimation and project analysis.
* Identify trends and insights from historical data to inform future estimates and decision-making.
* Provide ongoing support and training to team members and stakeholders.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job effectively.
* Knowledge and experience applying data collection, cleaning, and integration techniques.
* Demonstrated proficiency in analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
* Experience producing accurate results with attention to detail.

What Will Put You Ahead
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field or 2+ years' experience in Project Cost Estimating on industrial projects. (Refining, oil & gas, power, energy etc.)
* Experience working with large datasets and data-driven models.
* Knowledge of machine learning techniques applied to construction cost estimation.
* Familiarity with construction estimating software (e.g., Aspen, Bluebeam, @Risk).
* Proficiency in data visualization such as Tableau or PowerBi.
* Experience/education estimating multiple disciplines to include piping, electrical, instrumentation, structural steel, civil and all related crafts required to perform project execution.
* Experience in programming languages such as Python, VBA, SQL, or similar for automation purposes.
