EXCEPTIONAL Metals, a Division of Holcim Solutions and Products US, LLC, has an opening for a Commodity Manager at our Corporate Headquarters located in Saginaw, Michigan. The ideal candidate possesses and apply a strong knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to aid in the execution of complex purchasing initiatives; have technical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication, negotiation, organization skills and detailed oriented; and have a strong understanding of supplier lifecycle activities. This is a full-time, salary-based position with excellent benefits and growth opportunities that would report to the General Manager. The salary for this position ranges from $110,000 - 125,000 based upon experience. Commodity Manager Essential Functions:
- Developing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers is key to ensuring reliability, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.
- Assessing on-time delivery, quality of goods/services, and compliance with contracts.
- Measure supplier satisfaction through surveys or regular performance reviews with suppliers.
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with the supply chain, such as supplier disruptions, geopolitical factors, and price volatility, is essential for maintaining supply continuity.
- Complete Supplier Risk Assessments based on frequency and quality of supplier risk evaluations.
- Tracking the number of supply chain disruptions and their impact on operations.
- Ensuring that procurement activities align with organizational policies, industry standards, and environmental sustainability goals. This also includes ensuring ethical sourcing and adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Track compliance ratings of percentage of procurement activities that adhere to regulations, contracts, and policies.
- Determine percentage of products sourced from sustainable suppliers or the reduction in carbon footprint in the supply chain.
- Other job duties as assigned such as: KPIs, measuring supplier lead time, contract compliance rate, inventory turnover, etc.
Commodity Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in supply chain management or business.
- 5 years of understanding supply chains with market analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills, time management and attention to detail.
- Team-oriented approach with a desire to work in a hands-on capacity.
- Skilled in project management, analytical/critical thinking, innovative and independent work habits, positive interpersonal abilities, collaborative problem solving, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent PC skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite & knowledge of Google Docs & Drives.
- Positive attitude, good judgment and strong sense of responsibility, ownership, loyalty and strong work ethic.
