Center for Translational Research in Neuroimaging and Data Science (TReNDS):

Georgia State University's Center for Translational Research on Neuroimaging and Data Science (TReNDS) is looking for an Administrative Specialist to join our team! TReNDS is focused on developing advanced analytic approaches and neuroinformatics tools that leverage brain imaging data. The Center's goal is to translate these approaches into biomarkers that help solve issues related to brain health and disease.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Specialist are the following:



  • Develop and recommend policies and procedures relating to the administrative functions of the center.
  • Monitors and facilitates compliance with university and internal policies and procedures.
  • Enter invoice payments through Panther Mart and the GSU Foundation.
  • Manage credit and P Card reconciliations.
  • Orders and distributes office supplies as needed and maintains inventory.
  • Coordinates and facilitates meetings, events, and/or travel arrangements as required.
  • Responds to information requests either directly or by referring requests to the appropriate individual.
  • Assists with budgeting and fiscal planning in the Center.
  • Assists the Director, Center Manager, and faculty with administrative and financial processes and special projects.
  • Manages requests for facilities, property control, and telecommunications within and outside the University and maintains property control records.
  • May train and oversee other administrative staff/students.
  • Maintains the reception areas and break room.
  • Perform coverage of the front desk when necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and two years of administrative experience; or high school diploma or GED and six years of administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Hiring Requirements:



  • Knowledge of various software and information systems, such as MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
  • Knowledge of business management practices.
  • Knowledge of University rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise and direct the work of others.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and analyze work procedures.
  • Highly experienced with an in-depth knowledge of university rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with University software and tools such as Panther Mart, OneUSG, and Spectrum.
  • Must be able to handle a variety of tasks and resolve various issues.
  • Possesses professional, technical writing skills and can proofread.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience and drive to help shape the new Center.
