Overview of this Position:

The Human Resource Generalist's primary responsibility is to support the Human Resource function in some or all of the following areas: employee relations, training, Continuous Improvement, employment, recruitment and onboarding, benefits administration, and leave administration for assigned departments. This is not a remote role.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Prior work experience and knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, employee relations, and HRIS.
  • Must be able to flex schedule at times to meet the needs of a 24x7 manufacturing environment.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in a HR, Business Administration, or related field and at least 1 years' related work experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Support effective, responsive, and dedicated Human Resources customer service to employees' and managements' inquiries and concerns in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters. Understanding the sensitivity and complex nature of such inquiries.
  • Provide effective guidance and coaching to managers/supervisors, relating to employee concerns, problems, and disciplinary action in compliance with company policies. Investigate, counsel, and assist in resolving disputes.
  • Provide HR support to operations safety programs, initiatives, and processes including return to work and coordination of workers compensation programs as needed.
  • Work within HRIS system and employee personnel files to maintain accurate employee records. Handle/oversee ongoing Human Resource administration/paperwork.
  • Manage GRAM's FMLA and other leave programs to ensure eligibility; monitor employee use of time and communicate with employees and management regarding use of time.
  • Ensure compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification, including eVerify; periodically audit Forms I-9. Complete governmental and other surveys as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws. Meet governmental record-keeping and reporting requirements, including but not limited to Affirmative Action.
  • Assist with and employee recognition and engagement programs, communication tools and special events/functions.
  • Lead the "Welcome to GRAM" new employee onboarding presentation.
  • Lead, participate, and attend administrative staff and cross-functional meetings.
  • Oversee administrative responsibilities of Unemployment, Disability, and Worker's Comp claims; assist in resolving problems and attend unemployment hearings as necessary.
