POSITION SUMMARY
Property Management with Student Affairs is excited to begin the search for a
Dining Facilities - Student Assistant to assist assist with projects within Auburn University Dining Facilities. May also work with property management on housing related projects as needed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The position of
Dining
Facilities - Student Assistant with the department of Dining & Property Management exceeds the expectations of a typical student employee. It is distinguished by the responsibility for a wide variety of both routine and non-routine assignments across multiple areas. Due to the nature of the environment, an elevated level of professionalism and interpersonal skills are required.

- Times are flexible - Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting heavy objects and equipment while performing job duties. Wrist, hand, and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions. |
Essential Functions |
JOB DUTIES
- Assist with dining compost project.
- Transport and deliver food waste to composting facilities.
- Operate equipment with small engines/motors such as power washers, carpet cleaners, and other power tools.
- Assist with building preparation as needed.
- Assist with maintenance, including inspecting equipment and building areas.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at Auburn University.
Expectations:
- Due to the time commitment of the Facilities Student Assistant position, applicants can take summer classes however cannot have an outside job unless approval has been given by the Assistant Director of Property Management.
- Essential characteristics include time management, punctuality, professionalism, commitment to customer satisfaction, communication skills with a diverse group of customers and staff, and flexibility
- Demonstrated success in working with groups and dealing with demanding situations.
- Strong administrative skills with particular attention to detail required.
- Must be in good conduct standing with the university - conduct records will be verified.
- Must have a valid US Driver's license.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
