Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential referral and payer sources
  • Builds and monitors community, customer, and patient perceptions
  • Introduces and completes Explanation of Benefits with patients and/or patient families
  • Ensures consents are completed in accordance with appropriate guidelines and regulatory government agencies
  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of service markets including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources and competitor market positioning
  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge in the field of marketing and sharing information with appropriate organization personnel
  • Participates in the development of the individualized plan of care
  • Counsels patient and family/caregivers and/or connecting to appropriate team resources as needed for stress and other coping mechanisms
  • Occasional on-call responsibility as appropriate for discipline
  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Licensed Vocational Nurse or Chaplain
  • One year experience in health care marketing, preferably in hospice care
  • Ability to deal tactfully with customers and the community
  • Knowledge of corporate business management, governmental regulations, and Joint Commission standards
  • Demonstration of good communication and public relations skills
  • Demonstration of autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities
