Overview

The Sr. Telematics Advisor serves as the commercial lines telematics product and fleet risk management subject matter expert between the company, agents and our customers. This role will be responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and assessing customer telematics data in conjunction with customer's existing fleet exposures and controls, and the subsequent level of risk presented. An ideal candidate embraces emerging technologies and has experience using a consultative approach to improve unsafe driving behaviors and overall fleet risk.

In this role, you will focus on providing value to all stakeholders involved through delivery of exceptional risk management and customer service. While also communicating effectively across functions using a blend of technical expertise, customer-facing skills, and leadership capabilities.

*This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates based in EST


Responsibilities

  • In relation to the commercial auto line of business and CL auto telematics product, ability to evaluate and understand the telematics data and the operations of larger, more complicated or highest hazard commercial auto accounts, and identify potential loss producing conditions and remediation practices for each. Consult with others on telematics product team, Risk Management team, underwriters and agents on the conditions identified and complete written risk assessment in accordance with internal quality assessment guidelines.
  • Analyzes the telematics data and loss history of accounts to identify loss sources, trends in unsafe driving behaviors, accident frequency and severity, reach meaningful conclusions from the analyses, and provide a clear summary of those analyses to customers, agents, and underwriters. Actively investigate and monitor industry trends for loss benchmarking and assist telematics product team in utilizing industry data. When applicable, develop effective risk reduction recommendations and/or ongoing risk management objectives.
  • Provides superior telematics-related risk management service directly to key fleet customers and their agents. Listens to the concerns, needs, and challenges of customers in support of broader customer experience. Assists with telematics-related customer support and technical issues as needed.
  • Develops effective and ongoing communication with internal business partners and agents to ensure the conveyance of timely information for new and renewal telematics opportunities as well as consultative communication with customers. Assists Program/Product Manager in drafting key communications and telematics product documents, guides, and procedures.
  • Efficiently manages work scheduling in order to meet both internal and external customer needs.
  • Prepare and presents high level telematics product presentations and risk management training programs to internal and external customers on a variety of fleet risk management topics and issues.
  • Seasoned knowledge of fleet risk management techniques and telematics principles. Earn and maintain designations through self-education and training programs. This includes the application of nationally recognized codes and standards as well as appropriate state regulations in reducing the level of risk for customers. Independently seek opportunities to increase skills, knowledge and capabilities within area of specialty through self-education.
  • Advanced level of knowledge sharing and mentoring of less experienced team members on larger, complex fleet accounts and related telematics data.
  • Crafts internal telematics education and training resources to augment distribution and further awareness. Attends Producer Councils, Regional Sales Meetings, interdepartmental staff meetings, and field events to support deployment strategy.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Requirements

  • Ability to meet with customers and agents to assess and maintain risk. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and agents and encourage the implementation of risk management strategies to reduce the level of risk and the potential for loss. Must be able to build effective business partnerships with internal team members and agents.
  • Demonstrate a proficiency in usage of technology tools including: GenAI, Telematics dashboards and portals, Microsoft Office, work management system, PowerBI, etc.
  • Project Management skills a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Education and Experience

  • A college degree is preferred.
  • 7+ years with proficiency in assessing and managing risk developed through field-based experience
  • Exceptional problem solving abilities along with ability to apply OSHA, DOT, and other applicable technical standards. Risk evaluation and assessment techniques of various exposures and controls

The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.


Pay Range

USD $92,400.00 - USD $152,580.00 /Yr.
